Indeed job postings 

Through the first quarter of 2023, Indeed job postings have continued to reflect the cooling labor market. As of April 7th, job postings are down 15% from the same time last year. However, demand for workers remains quite strong. As of April 7th, the Indeed Job Postings Index registered at 133, meaning job postings remain 33% above their pre-pandemic base line.

Transportation job postings 

The job posting trends inside the transportation segment largely reflect the cooling of the overall labor market. Loading & Stocking and Logistic Support have registered substantial drops in job postings over the past year, down 26.8% and 31.6%, respectively.

While job postings in other areas of transportation have weakened, others have climbed or at least held steady. Aviation job postings are up 5.3% over the past year and Driving postings are down just 1%.

Transportation quits 

Turnover in Transportation has yet to slow down as it has in other areas of the labor market. While the quits rate has declined in the labor market overall, quits in the Transportation, warehousing & utilities industry has risen over the past year and remains elevated above its pre-pandemic level.
