More British People Are Working For Themselves

The gig economy is making great strides in the UK. The proportion of British people working for themselves has grown significantly in recent years and is large in comparison with other EU countries. Some 43% of net employment created since 2008 has been made up of jobs in which people work for themselves. What’s more, the shares of part-timers, women and highly skilled workers are rising among the self-employed.
