Job postings \u2014 a real-time measure of labour market activity \u2014 were 38.5% above the 1 February, 2020, pre-pandemic baseline, seasonally adjusted, as of 8 October, 2021. The hiring upswing shows no sign of slowing, as Ireland approaches the next phase of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/news\/irish-news\/irish-pubs-major-rule-changes-25185752\">easing restrictions<\/a> towards the end of this month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/L1eB-kMOA5AIdOj1sk4W_QikJbb596ryQwM2t3H4iR2pAqjiZ6B5P6R-SY6SjR3XqTpUj-dCDn2ueH9sKtPlTstO-xzQOgYYhd-Wii9GRjTKbk0lSq4MNkoBv0tRO_ebRqTGnBw5=s0\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption><em>A line graph titled \u201cJob postings on Indeed, Ireland\u201d showing the percentage change in job postings on Indeed Ireland since 01 Feb 2020, seasonally adjusted, to 8 Oct 2021. There was a 38.5% change in job postings on Indeed Ireland from 01 Feb 2020 to 8 Oct 2021.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pharmacy, cleaning and sports see growth&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the last four weeks, the strongest improvements in job posting trends were seen for the pharmacy, cleaning &amp; sanitation and sports categories. The biggest deteriorations were in chemical engineering, veterinary and medical information.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/DqkeX1zR09GPQvf_qZULEG_P51mBvldmdco7DoG5IiyMeldY8EA7c6gmEMP7GdMRh86ew-Za5nPZblrt8V_oRp-6pxchuUKDA4HnxUKc1zjEipsPTp0XCWBwMnRc27KPqUstbWvk=s0\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption><em>Table titled \u201cPharmacy sees biggest improvement.\u201d Indeed compared the percent change in Irish job postings, between 01 February, 2020, and 8 Oct 2021 across various sectors divided into sections \u201cstrongest performers,\u201d and \u201cweakest performers.\u201d The strongest performers were the pharmacy, cleaning &amp; sanitation and sports sectors, while the weakest performers were chemical engineering, veterinary and medical information.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kildare continues to lead the recovery<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking at trends in the five largest counties by job posting volume, County Kildare is leading the recovery by some margin, with job postings 74% above the baseline. Galway is second at 44%. Typically, the site will be updated with the latest data one day after the respective Hiring Lab tracker is published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Methodology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>All figures in this blogpost are the percentage change in seasonally-adjusted job postings since 1 February, 2020, using a seven-day trailing average. 1 February, 2020, is our pre-pandemic baseline. We seasonally adjust each series based on historical patterns in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Each series, including the national trend, occupational sectors, and sub-national geographies, is seasonally adjusted separately. We adopted this new methodology in January 2021.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em>The number of job postings on&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/indeed.com\/\">Indeed.com<\/a>, whether related to paid or unpaid job solicitations, is not indicative of potential revenue or earnings of Indeed, which comprises a significant percentage of the HR Technology segment of its parent company, Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. Job posting numbers are provided for information purposes only and should not be viewed as an indicator of performance of Indeed or Recruit.
